From New Construction in Wasilla to Their Dream Home in Palmer

Real Buyer Success Story | Wasilla and Palmer, Alaska

Sometimes the home you think is going to be your dream home turns out to be just one chapter in the journey.

And this particular journey? It's one I won't forget.

My buyers started out with plans to purchase a beautiful new construction home in Wasilla. We had chosen the lot, selected paint colors, backsplash, cabinet hardware, flooring, and all the little details that make a house feel like your own.

The builder meeting was complete, selections were made, and everything seemed ready to move forward.

Then came the delays.

Construction wasn't progressing as expected. Some materials weren't ordered in time, selections had to be changed, and incorrect flooring was installed. As time went on, the home was still far from completion, and there was no clear finish line.

What started as an exciting experience became an incredibly frustrating situation.

After evaluating the circumstances, my buyers decided not to move forward with the purchase.

But walking away wasn't the end of the process.

There were earnest money and additional construction related funds that needed to be addressed. I spent months communicating and negotiating with the builder, working toward a resolution that would allow my buyers to move forward.

Ultimately, we reached an agreement, and the builder returned their earnest money and additional Notice to Proceed funds.

I appreciated the builder's willingness to work through the circumstances and reach a resolution.

Once my buyers were ready to begin looking again, we spent a day touring homes and found something special in Palmer.

A newer home with beautiful updates already in place. It offered everything they had been searching for, along with features they hadn't expected to find.

We submitted an offer, and it was accepted the following day.

Just 30 days later, we closed on their Palmer home!

After everything they had experienced, seeing them finally reach the closing table was an incredible moment.

This transaction reminded me that buying a home doesn't always go according to plan. Sometimes the path changes, and the challenges along the way require patience, persistence, and thoughtful decisions.

For me, being a Realtor means more than opening doors and writing offers. It means being present when things get complicated, communicating clearly, and advocating for my clients throughout the process.

Because finding the right home matters. And having someone in your corner through the unexpected matters just as much.

Every home leaves a chapter. Let's make yours unforgettable.
